SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Kids Wonder Lake 2 has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 0, which is 13 inches smaller than the average height of the 238 other 2 person tents we have studied. With 28 square feet of space inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you and, another camper during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents like this one are a great choice for people that welcome spending loads of time outside of their tent exploring.

Many of the great points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them easy to carry. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most common of all the various sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in the rain than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the roof. The most straightforward dome tent should have a rectangular floor, sloped walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is typically thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Kids Wonder Lake can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Coleman has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the sides of the tent.
  4. Breathable. The Kids Wonder Lake's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  5. Plenty of Positive Reviews The Kids Wonder Lake 2 has Plenty of excellent Reviews
  6. Remarkable Ratings The Kids Wonder Lake 2 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  7. Low price. It is a great deal for a 2 person dome tent that provides this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $42.89 info_outline

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 28 square feet, the Kids Wonder Lake 2 is smaller than quite a few of the 249 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 13% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you must keep them inside the tent.
  4. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy downpours.
  5. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of WeatherTec systems patented welded but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  6. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many qualities to rave about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  7. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store much gear inside..

CONCLUSION

5 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 5.0 STARS

Coleman's Kids Wonder Lake 2 tent is really good for backpacking. There are a couple of other cool things not already mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: Fun design with glow-in-the-dark logo, extra weather protection from a door awning and an included rainfly and Expandable carry bag lets you tear away the rip strip for easy packing.

With very good ratings, lots of reviews and a center height of 3' and 28 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own miniature studio. This will allow you to spend some really enjoyable time exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can read through above.

If you came to this website looking for an endorsement about this actual tent, we consider, it would make for a very good buy. In case you just happened to land on this page while browsing for a new tent having never heard of this manufacture or this model before, it is perhaps a good thing to look at some other similar tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is undoubtedly cheaper than the normal cost of all the two hundred and thirty-eight, two-person tents we have studied, this itself does not make it remarkable value for money. One should also think about other areas in-depth, as we do with every tent.

When we tally up the ratings of a tent, we study a lot of things, looking for areas where the tent could outperform other near-identical tents and where it is lacking. On this occasion, with a total score of 5.0 and the price details above, one can conclude that with a price of $42.89 info_outline The Kids Wonder Lake 2 is an excellent bargain and astonishingly competitively priced when compared with comparable tents.

Its overall score shows that the build and dimensions the tent provides were not in any way skimped on to get a price well below the usual price for comparable tents. It is also worth noting it is marked down by 29% from the manufactures MSRP. It should make a fantastic choice for most campers searching for an adequate three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that should serve you well for years to come.
