Summary: Favorable Reviews

Some campers who used this tent said: For its price, it is not bad. The poles used do not have any finicky or fragile joints. It packs smaller, bends without breaking, and can be easily inflated from inside once staked. It can handle 90 temperature swings without losing stability or bursting. Perfect for any solo trips.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

People who used the tent said: There is not much to expect in this type of tent. It only provides a little protection, so when you travel, you should bring a fly in case of rain. The 24-inch-tall arch that supports the mesh is shorter than most, so dont expect to sit up. And also, there is no door for this tent.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Escape Pod 1 has one door and a peak center height of 2' 0, which is 17 inches smaller than the average height of the 79 different 1 person tents we have studied. With 9 square feet of room inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite cramped for you during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents similar to this one often can make a good choice for campers that love spending loads of hours outside exploring the great outdoors.

A few of the great things about bivy tents are, that they are under normal circumstances lightweight, making them simple to carry. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the bivy type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.

Bivy tents are without a doubt the most commonly seen of all the different types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in storms than other types, allowing rain to roll off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the rain to pool on the top of the tent. The simplest bivy tent will have a rectangular footprint, sloped walls a couple of poles which cross in the center of the roof. Because of their construction, it is typically considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Below you can check out a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Internal storage. It is good to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  2. If you are looking for this particular tent, you are in luck it has been discontinued on the manufactures website, but is still available elsewhere.
  3. Low price. It is a great deal for a 1 person bivy tent that provides this much space. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $129.95

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 9 square feet, the Escape Pod 1 is smaller than quite a few of the 80 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 17% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you will have to store them inside the tent.
  4. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 20D PeU Nylon Ripstop but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  5. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of gear inside..

This enables you to spend some real quality time exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for recommendations about this actual tent, our view is, it will make for a good purchase. If you just happened to land on this page while looking for a new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this tent previously, it is perhaps a good thing to look at a few more similar tents.

Value for money: As far as value for money, this tent is without a doubt cheaper than the standard price of all the seventy-nine, one-person tents we have looked at, this just by itself does not make it good value for money. One should also look at other areas in-depth, as we do with every tent.

When we measure the score of a tent, we examine a lot of things, searching for areas where the tent could outperform other similar tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with an overall score of 4.1 and the price details above, It is simple to identify that with a ticket price of $129.95 Nemo Equipment's Escape Pod 1 is a fair purchase and astonishingly cheap in comparison with comparable tents.

The ratings show that the build and dimensions the tent gives you were not compromised to finish up with a price tag unquestionably below the average price for comparable tents.
