Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who bought the tent mentioned: Ventilation was not an issue for me. I spent two nights in the Appalachians and woke both mornings with bone dry walls. Two months straight sleeping in this tent, and I'm in love!! Overall, this tent has been handy as an ultralight option, even in humidity and rain. The poles are now external of the tent, which makes putting it up much easier and quicker.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers, who purchased the tent said: Sitting up and changing in the shelter may prove to be a challenge for taller people. Figuring out how to guy it out properly takes some practice.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Scout 2 Carbon has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 9, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 204 other 2 person tents we have examined With 25 square feet of space inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you and, another camper during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one can generally make a very good choice for campers that prefer spending heaps of time outside exploring the great outdoors.

Many of the great points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking not too heavy, making them easy to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the various types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in the rain than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the water to pool on the top. The most basic dome tent will have a square footprint, slanted sides a couple of poles which cross in the center of the roof. Due to the way they are made, it is usually thought of that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Internal storage. It is good to see Big Agnes has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  2. Has awnings. The awnings protect the walls of the tent.
  3. Other sizes are available. Big Agnes has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 25 square feet, the Scout 2 is smaller than quite a lot of the 204 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 6% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the rain etc, you must keep them inside the tent.
  4. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Scout 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Silicone-treated nylon ripstop, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  5. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store much stuff inside..

CONCLUSION

4.2 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.2 STARS

Big Agnes's Scout 2 Carbon tent is suitable for backpacking. There are a couple of other points not noted above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: Two oversized 3-D bin pockets provide ample storage without encroaching on your livable space , Multiple interior loops for use with gear lofts or for attaching other accessories and Exterior trekking-pole design paired with vertical endwalls and over-vertical sidewalls creates a spacious floor plan.

With positive ratings, and a peak height of 3' and 25 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your own little home away from home. This will enable you to enjoy some delightful moments hanging out with nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you came to this website looking for suggestions about this particular tent, we think, it will make for a good buy. If you just happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent before, it is probably a good idea to look at some other similar tents also.

Value for money: As far as value for money, this tent is undoubtedly costlier than the normal price of all the two hundred and eighty-five, two-person tents we have looked at, this itself is not a negative thing. One should also take into account other factors in detail, as we do for each tent.

When we tally up the overall score of a tent, we look at a lot of data points, finding areas where the tent could beat out other comparable tents and where it is lacking. On this occasion, with an overall rating of 4.2 and the price knowledge above, It is simple to notice that with a cost of $699.95 The Scout 2 Carbon is a good buy even though it may be considered quite costly when set side by side with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the build and capacity the tent gives you make it a decent choice for those wanting a tent that will be used for many years. It will make an ok choice for most campers searching for a comfortable three-season backpacking tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
