Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers who used it said that: The tent performed flawlessly even when the lake was frozen, and the overnight temperatures plummeted to -5C. Loved the larger fly that acts as a big cooking vestibule or comfortable lounging area during rainy or hot sunny days. I'd say it's the perfect two or three-person tent for weekend getaways where you don't plan to move a lot. It also makes for an excellent canoe camping tent. The Dagger vents well even in the teens thanks to the vestibule vent feature and the guy outs on either end of the tent. There is so much room in this. It's a true 2P, but also a beyond comfortable 1P.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

People who bought this tent said: My one complaint is the ultra-light zipper. We were camped in a really dusty area, and the wind didn't help matters. With the dust getting in the zipper, it started to catch, and I was worried that they would ultimately fail.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Dagger 2 Porch has two doors and a peak center height of 5' 5, which is 16 inches more than the average height of the 235 different 2 person tents we have studied. With 31 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, another camper during the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one generally make an excellent choice for people who enjoy spending plenty of time outside exploring the great outdoors.

Some of the great points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them simple to carry. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are easily the most commonly seen of all the other sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in storms than other types, allowing water to roll off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the rain pooling on the roof. The simplest dome tent will have a square footprint, slanted sides two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is typically thought of that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can see a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Tons of Headroom. With 16% more headroom than similar size tents, one can easily count this as a plus.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is good to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 30D PeU Nylon Ripstop, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to rips and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  7. Available in other sizes. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 31 square feet, the Dagger 2 is smaller than quite a lot of the 246 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 30D PeU Nylon Ripstop but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  3. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is more expensive than the usual cost of all the two hundred and thirty-five, two-person tents we have looked at, this alone by itself is not a negative thing. One should also look at other areas in detail, as we do with every tent.
