Easy assembly with pole clips that quickly snap over the tent poles
The Hydrus 1 is easy to assemble. Love the ability to fold and unfold the flap from the inside the tent. It is very practical, especially for star viewing.
It does not have all the things that I needed for a tent. However, for its price, it's still a good catch. For a simple camping event, this one would be okay and survive you for a night.
The Hydrus 1 has one door and a peak center height of 3' 5, which is a tiny bit smaller than the average height of the 68 other 1 person tents we have examined With 22 square feet of room inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you during the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents similar to this one often can make a good choice for people that prefer spending plenty of hours outside their tent getting some air.
Some of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part light, making them simple to carry. In nearly all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.
Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the different types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing water to easily slide off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the roof. The simplest dome tent should have a square footprint, sloped sides a couple of poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Due to their construction, it is generally considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Alps Mountaineering's Hydrus 1 tent is great for backpacking. Here are a couple of other things not already mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: Vestibule pole allows for maximum usable space, creating an expansive storage area and easy entry/exi, Weatherproof fly buckles on for maximum adjustability and protection and Pocket placement designed for user(s) to sleep with head at the door or the rear of the tent.
With good ratings, a couple of reviews and a center height of 3' and 22 square feet of space to enjoy, this tent is like your very own small studio. It enables you to spend some really enjoyable time camping. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.
If you came to this page looking for recommendations on this actual tent, we consider, it will make for a great purchase. In case you just happened to land on this page while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this manufacurer or this tent previously, it is possibly a good idea to look at some more similar tents.
Value for money: When contemplating value for your dollar, this tent is significantly cheaper than the normal cost of all the one hundred and six, one-person tents we have looked at, this by itself does not make it remarkable value for money. We also need to think about other factors in-depth, as we do for every tent.
When we tally up the ratings of a tent, we regard plenty of stuff, finding things where the tent could exceed other comparable tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.3 and the price knowledge above, we can observe that with a price of $199.99 The Hydrus 1 is a great purchase and fabulously cheap in comparison with comparable tents.
The ratings show that the build and capacity the tent offers were not skimped on to obtain a price tag significantly under the usual price for similar tents. It is also worth thinking about the fact that it is reduced by 0% from the manufactures MSRP. It should make a remarkable choice for nearly all people looking for a comfortable three-season backpacking tent to camp with, that will serve you well for years to come.
