3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Big Agnes adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
4. Has awnings. The awnings shelter the walls of the tent.
5. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
6. More than one window. With 2 openings it is easier to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
7. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.

1. Sensitive to wind. Because of its size and shape, the Big House may not do best in strong winds if it is not firmly secured with the provided guy lines and stakes. Even though the tent is listed as freestanding in all but very calm conditions, one would need to stake and tie it down correctly.
2. Not roomy. With a floor area of 60 square feet, the Big House 4 is smaller than quite a few of the 134 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Big House 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of tough fabric, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
4. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Big House 4, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 11 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
