1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 44 square feet, the Blacktail 3 is smaller than quite a few of the 179 other 3 person tents we have looked at.
2. Lacking in Headroom. With 7% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some campers.
3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately specifically for the Blacktail 3 footprint Even though the floor may be made of Polyester with waterproof, polyurethane coating, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
4. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures site the last time we checked.
5. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Blacktail 3, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 7 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
