SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Weathermaster 10 has six windows and one door and a maximum center height of 6' 8, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 24 various 10 person tents we have studied. With 153 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 10-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to nine other campers during the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, larger tents like this one can make a suitable choice for groups who appreciate having lots of room for sleeping and hanging out.

One of the many advantages of cabin tents is, that the walls are near vertical creating a larger interior, this makes for much more headroom at the sides of the tent, making it feel much bigger than a dome tent, they also, have a larger sleeping area making them great for families. In general cabin tents most often used by people going on a camping trip in a car or a truck as they are quite heavy when compared to dome tents. It dose though make them well suited to colder nights. Lot’s of cabin tents have more than just one room to stay in, just like the Coleman Weathermaster two-room tent

Underneath you can see a list of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Internal storage. It is good to see Coleman has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your things.
  2. More than one room. The Weathermaster is designed with two rooms, allowing for more privacy. Perfect for a large family and groups who do not want to be all sleeping together.
  3. Removable divider. For those who want to maximize all of the available space that the Weathermaster provides, the divider can be detached to have one large room for everyone to share.
  4. More than one window. With 6 openings it is easier to keep the tent cool on a hot summers night.
  5. Includes FootPrint. It is not often we see a footprint included with the tent. It is suggested to always use a footprint, so not having to buy one is a bonus.
  6. Breathable. The Weathermaster's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  7. Plenty of Positive Reviews The Weathermaster 10 has Tons of very good Reviews
  8. Impressive Ratings The Weathermaster 10 has some of the best ratings of all the tents on optimumtents.com
  9. Available in other sizes. Coleman has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  10. Low price. It is a great deal for a 10 person cabin tent providing this much space. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $244.48 info_outline

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 153 square feet, the Weathermaster 10 is smaller than quite a lot of the 25 other 10 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 9% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. Only one door. With just one door to get outside in the middle of the night, it could wake other people that are sleeping.
  4. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you need store them inside the tent.
  5. Rainfly does not totally cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it may not protect against heavy rain.
  6. Uses Fiberglass poles. Even though the poles are comprised of steel and fiberglass. Using even some fiberglass with a big tent like the Weathermaster 10 could possibly lead to problems, if there were to be extreemly windy conditions.
  7. Poor Heat Retention. The general construction of the Coleman's Weathermasters interior is designed to easily let air in and out. Therefore, it cannot keep heat inside, making it unsuitable for use in winter.
  8. Heavy. Even though heavy is not in it self a negative, it is worth noting that the Weathermaster 10, weighs 35 pounds and has a packed size of 32 x 10.5 x 10.5 inches. Clearly it is designed for camping with a vehicle and would not be super simple to set up on your own.

CONCLUSION

4.9 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.9 STARS

Coleman's Weathermaster 10 tent is really good for car camping. Here are a couple of other points not already mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: The included rainfly and the WeatherTec system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry., Storage pockets to keep your gear organized and 1-year limited warranty.

With excellent ratings, tons of reviews and a peak height of 6' and 153 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own modest mansion. It will allow you together with 8 other people to share some really enjoyable time exploring the great outdoors. We found more positive things than cons about the tent that you can look at above.

If you came to this page looking for suggestions on this specific tent, our view is, it should make for a very good purchase. In case you just happened to land on this page while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this brand or this model previously, it is probably a good idea to look at a few other similar tents also.

Value for money: As far as value for your dollar, this tent is a lot more competitive than the standard price point of all the twenty-four, ten-person tents we have taken a look at, this alone does not make it good value for money. We also need to take into account other areas in-depth, as we do for every tent.

When we tally up the overall score of an individual tent, we consider loads of conditions, looking for things where the tent could beat other comparable tents and where it is not quite as good. In this case, with a total score of 4.9 and the price conclusions above, we can observe that with a price point of $244.48 info_outline Coleman's Weathermaster 10 is a remarkable deal and incredibly priced when compared with comparable tents.

Its overall score shows that the build and capacity the tent offers were not in any way compromised to finish up with a price significantly below the average price for comparable tents. It is also worth noting it is marked down by 30% from the manufactures suggested price. It should make a fantastic choice for most people looking for an adequate three-season cabin tent to go camping in, that should serve you well for years to come.
