Tent Set Up

Very easy to set up and take down

Green Thumbs Up Logo

Summary: Favorable Reviews

Easy to set up even by just one person. Good height. Can hold a queen sized air mattress and still have room to spare for other gear. Good illumination at night. No leaks even in a rain storm.

Teal Thumbs Down Logo

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Front door zipper is not the best quality. It may be prone to damage without warning. The zipper could suddenly snap while camping, and that's not good.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Sunrise Ex 4 has four windows and one door and a peak center height of 5' 0, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 140 different 4 person tents we have examined With 64 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, up to three other campers during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one often can make a great choice for people that appreciate spending lots of time outside exploring the great outdoors.

Some of the cool things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them easy to carry. In most all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the various types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the roof. The simplest dome tent will have a rectangular floor, sloped walls two or more poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Because of the way they are made, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Beneath you can browse a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Sunrise Ex can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Eureka has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  3. More than one window. With 4 windows it is simple to keep the tent cooler on a hot summers night.
  4. Available in other sizes. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  5. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 4 person dome tent that provides this much room. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $179.95

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 64 square feet, the Sunrise Ex 4 is smaller than quite a few of the 140 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. No Vestibules. If you want to keep your dirty shoes, clothes, and backpacks protected from the elements, you must store them inside the tent.
  3. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy downpours.
  4. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 63D 190T Polyester taffeta but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  5. Out of Stock. Unfortunately this particular tent is not currently in stock. It is still on the manufactures website the last time we looked.
  6. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Sunrise Ex 4, looks like a small tent, it is not ideal for backpacking as it weighs 11 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  7. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many things to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
  8. Storage Space. Due to the size of the tent, one cannot store a lot of stuff inside..

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Eureka's Sunrise Ex 4 tent is good for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a few other nice points not already mentioned above which, we found and liked, while reviewing the model: Windows on each wall provide 360 views., Bathtub floor and fully seam taped construction keep water out and Want power? Run an outdoor grade extension cord from campsite power into the tent through the E!Power Port. .

With good ratings, a couple of reviews and a center height of 5' and 64 square feet of space to play with, this tent is like your own small apartment. This will allow you and up to 2 other people to enjoy some real quality moments camping together. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this website looking for suggestions about this specific tent, we think, it will make for a good acquisition. In case you just happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this manufacurer or this model before, it is perhaps a good idea to check out a few other comparable tents.

Value for money: When thinking about value for your dollar, this tent is without a doubt more competitive than the average cost of all the one hundred and fifty-nine, four-person tents we have studied, all alone this does not make it excellent value for money. One should also think about other factors in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we calculate the score of an individual tent, we examine plenty of stuff, finding things where the tent could exceed other near-identical tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with an overall score of 4.3 and the price info above, we can observe that with a price of $179.95 Eureka's Sunrise Ex 4 is a fair deal and incredibly cheap in comparison with comparable tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and space the tent gives you were not compromised to arrive at a price unquestionably beneath the average price for comparable tents. It should make a superb choice for most people looking for a comfy three-season dome tent to camp in, that should serve you well for years to come.
