Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who purchased the tent noted: The walls are higher in this model, and it helps with the wind. It is a very easy tent to put up and take down. It was blowing around in a strong wind but had no leaks. They were able to camp in a bog, and no water or mud seeped in. The loft is incredible, well worth the extra purchase since the weight is negligible. High vented ceiling that would be easy for any camper to sit up and move around comfortably. While other tents I have had begun leaking and the poles have snapped, these tents remain strong with almost no issues whatsoever.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Campers who bought the tent mentioned: They would like to see smaller packaging so this tent can go into a compression bag to obtain more packing room. The only downside is the fly is made of a heavy material, which makes for a much heavier tent.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Outfitter Pro 2 has two doors and a peak center height of 3' 7, which is a tiny bit smaller than the average height of the 211 various 2 person tents we have studied. With 35 square feet of room inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it could be a little tight for you and, another camper all through the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents similar to this one can make a really good choice for campers who appreciate spending heaps of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Many of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances lightweight, making them simple to carry. In most all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the various sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the sloped sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, resulting in the rain pooling on the top of the tent. The most straightforward dome tent will have a square footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually thought of that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Beneath you can find an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Outfitter Pro can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you somewhere to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is nice to see Kelty has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 210D Nylon, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 3000 mm waterproofing rating, which is pretty good for most circumstances.
  6. Breathable. The Outfitter Pro's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  7. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1800mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  8. Other sizes are available. Kelty has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  9. Low price. It is a great deal for a 2 person dome tent providing this much room. Not many tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $145.76

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 35 square feet, the Outfitter Pro 2 is smaller than quite a few of the 211 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 8% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some people.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Outfitter Pro 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 210D Nylon, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. A tad heavy for backpacking. Even though the Outfitter Pro 2, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 6 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of attributes to rave about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

Value for money: When considering value for money, this tent is a lot cheaper than the usual price of all the two hundred and ninety-two, two-person tents we have looked at, this alone does not make it remarkable value for money. We also need to think about other areas in-depth, as we do for each tent.
