Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who experienced the tent said: Easy to put up and to take down even you are in the dark. The entrances are great for when you stuff the large vestibule with gear and do not want to have to try to crawl over it. It is also stable with lots of guy outs. Plenty of internal pockets is beneficial, especially I bring many things with me when I hike. The vestibule can also be altered in three different ways depending on the weather and trip use.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some backpackers who used this tent on their trip said: It is not the tent that you want to use when going to high altitude climbing. It is weak at the same time it rips off easily. The construction of it as you look at it is good; however, its wind stability is weak. Not even sure if its water resistant since my things tend to get wet in the pockets from condensation, but otherwise a very solid tent.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Chogori 2 has one window and two doors and a maximum center height of 3' 3, which is 10 inches less than the average height of the 235 different 2 person tents we have examined With 36 square feet of room inside, it is a tiny bit larger than some other 2-person tents, and it should accommodate you and, another camper throughout the 4-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make an ideal choice for campers that welcome spending heaps of time outside the tent exploring.

Some of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking lightweight, making them easy to carry. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most common of all the other sorts of tents you will find when camping. They tend to do better in storms than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the top. The most straightforward dome tent will have a rectangular footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Due to their construction, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Underneath you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Chogori can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Internal storage. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your gear.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. Durable, water-resistant floor. The floor material is 70D PeU Nylon, which is a substantially thick and high-strength fabric. Meaning the base is not prone to tears and punctures. Also, the material has a 5000 mm waterproofing rating, which is very good for most circumstances.
  6. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Lacking in Headroom. With 10% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  2. Rainfly does not completely cover the tent. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy downpours.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 70D PeU Nylon but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  4. A tad heavy for backpacking. Even though the Chogori 2, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 7 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many things to rave about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.
