Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers who used this tent during their trip said: This tent holds up pretty well after some camping trips. The bathtub floor is nice, durable and waterproof. It is super easy to set up. The stakes are lightweight but super durable, and I could not bend them when trying. Plus the design is fantastic and Plenty of room for my gear. Overall, it is worth the price.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Hikers who used this tent said: It is not best and it is not also the worst out there. There are areas in this tent that are prone to dust storms, as the rain fly only really covers the mesh areas on the tent. This allows plenty of airflows but could allow sand to come in in a heavy storm. Buttons on the tent floor are also cumbersome to get to and break off of the tent base when trying to detach the pawprint. Other than that, it is all fine. It is pretty decent considering the price it offers.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Losi 2 has two doors and a peak center height of 3' 10, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 235 other 2 person tents we have studied. With 31 square feet of space inside, it is a tiny bit smaller than some other 2-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, another camper all through the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one make a really good choice for people that welcome spending plenty of hours outside their tent getting some air.

Many of the great things about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part lightweight, making them easy to carry. In most all cases, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most commonly seen of all the different types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to do better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to roll off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The most basic dome tent will have a square footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually thought of that they are best suited for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Below you can see an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Losi can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the floor with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is easier to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  6. If you are searching for this actual tent, you are in luck it has been discontinued on the manufactures site, but is still available elsewhere.
  7. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great deal for a 2 person dome tent providing this much room. Not many tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $329.95

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 31 square feet, the Losi 2 is smaller than quite a few of the 246 other 2 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately designed for the Losi 2 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 68D PeU Polyester, it is still better to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  3. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of attributes to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.3 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.3 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Losi 2 tent is great for backpacking. Here are a couple of other points not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while researching the model: Includes a convenient roll-up stuff sack that keeps the tent, stakes and cords organized, Provides a soft, durable Pawprint liner to protect the inside of your tent from your dog's paws and Designed from the inside out, resulting in more head space than other tents with a similar size and footprint.

With positive ratings, a couple of reviews and a center height of 3' and 31 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own small studio. This enables you to spend some really enjoyable moments exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can read through above.

If you came to this website looking for recommendations on this actual tent, our view is, it should make for a great purchase. In case you just happened to arrive on this page while looking for a new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this tent before, it is possibly a good idea to look at a few more similar tents also.

Value for money: As far as value for your dollar, this tent is a more competitive than the usual cost of all the two hundred and thirty-five, two-person tents we have taken a look at, this by itself does not make it good value for money. We also need to take into account other areas in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we measure the ratings of a tent, we reflect upon a good deal of areas, searching for points where the tent could shine against other comparable tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall rating of 4.3 and the price details above, one can view that with a cost of $329.95 The Losi 2 is a decent buy and fabulously priced in comparison with similar tents.

The ratings show that the quality and dimensions the tent offers were not compromised to obtain a price tag well beneath the usual price for comparable tents. It is also worth noting it is marked down by 0% from the manufactures MSRP. It should make a fantastic choice for most people looking for a comfy three-season backpacking tent to go camping in, that should serve you well for years to come.
