Summary: Favorable Reviews

Campers who used this tent during their trip said: This tent holds up pretty well after some camping trips. The bathtub floor is nice, durable and waterproof. It is super easy to set up. The stakes are lightweight but super durable, and I could not bend them when trying. Plus the design is fantastic and Plenty of room for my gear. Overall, it is worth the price.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Hikers who used this tent said: It is not best and it is not also the worst out there. There are areas in this tent that are prone to dust storms, as the rain fly only really covers the mesh areas on the tent. This allows plenty of airflows but could allow sand to come in in a heavy storm. Buttons on the tent floor are also cumbersome to get to and break off of the tent base when trying to detach the pawprint. Other than that, it is all fine. It is pretty decent considering the price it offers.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Losi 4 has two doors and a maximum center height of 5' 1, which is a little bit more than the average height of the 152 various 4 person tents we have studied. With 61 square feet of space inside, it is a little bit smaller than some other 4-person tents, and it could be a little cramped for you and, up to three other campers throughout the 3-seasons, this tent is approved for use in, smaller tents like this one can generally make a great choice for campers that love spending heaps of hours outside of the tent enjoying the fresh air.

Many of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances light, making them simple to carry around. In near all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are usually, freestanding and very easy to set up. In good weather, you can do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most common of all the other types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the slanted sides, unlike cabin tents that have flat tops, allowing the rain to pool on the top of the tent. The most basic dome tent should have a rectangular floor, sloped walls two or more poles which converge in the center of the roof. Because of their construction, it is generally considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 people.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Losi can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Affords you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. More than one door. With 2 doors, it is simpler to get in and out of the tent, in the middle of the night if needed.
  5. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1200mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  6. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 61 square feet, the Losi 4 is smaller than quite a few of the 153 other 4 person tents we have looked at.
  2. No windows. With no windows it is not simple to keep the tent ventilated on a hot summers night.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Losi 4 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 68D PeU Polyester, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Discontinued: Unfortunately this particular tent has been discontinued on the manufactures site and is no longer available elsewhere, that we know of.
  5. A little heavy for backpacking. Even though the Losi 4, looks like a small tent, it is not probably the best choice for backpacking as it weighs 9 pounds. This is quite a lot more than many other backpacking tents
  6. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of things to rave about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.5 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.5 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Losi 4 tent is suitable for bicycle & motorbike camping. There are a couple of other things not already mentioned above which, were noticed and liked, while reviewing the model: Includes a convenient roll-up stuff sack that keeps the tent, stakes and cords organized, Provides a soft, durable Pawprint liner to protect the inside of your tent from your dog's paws and Designed from the inside out, resulting in more head space than other tents with a similar size and footprint.

With positive ratings, and a minimum headroom of 5' and 61 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own miniature apartment. This will allow you and up to 2 other people to spend some delightful moments enjoying nature. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can read through above.

If you found this website looking for an endorsement about this actual tent, our view is, it will make for a very good acquisition. If you simply happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having never heard of this brand or this tent model before, it is perhaps a good thing to check out a few more similar tents.

Value for money: In terms of value for your dollar, this tent is tad bit more competitive than the normal price of all the one hundred and fifty-two, four-person tents we have looked at, all alone this does not make it good value for money. One should also look at other things in detail, as we do with every tent.

When we calculate the ratings of a tent, we reflect upon plenty of conditions, finding areas where the tent could outperform other similar tents and where it is not quite as good. On this occasion, with a total rating of 4.5 and the price knowledge above, we can identify that with a price of $449.95 The Losi 4 is a very good purchase and reasonably priced in comparison with similar tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and size the tent gives you were not skimped on to arrive at a price unquestionably beneath the usual price for similar tents. It should make an excellent choice for most campers searching for a comfy three-season dome tent to go camping with, that will serve you well for years to come.
