Summary: Favorable Reviews

People who bought this tent said: It is pretty easy to set up. It packs down small and easily fits in my pack. Decent stakes and a tub floor are also provided, which you dont usually see in tents like this. It was a good idea to provide for a divvy sack was able to use it when traveling with a friend. Better headroom compared to other models in this price range. Considering its price, it is decent all in all.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some campers who used it said: Using it in a harsh environment is not a good idea. Though its pretty decent, it is not advisable to use it during strong winds or heavy rains. The sides without the full pole support blow in far. The poles go from corner to corner across one side, but on the other, there is only a top bar, and the stakes/ties provide the support. Rainfly also does not seem to be very efficient when attaching the two corners of the tent.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Blaze 1 has one door and a peak center height of 3' 4, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 79 different 1 person tents we have examined With 18 square feet of room inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you during the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one often make an ideal choice for campers who prefer spending lots of time outside the tent exploring.

Many of the cool points about dome tents are, that they are generally speaking not too heavy, making them easy to carry around. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In good weather, you could do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are the most common of all the various types of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing rain to easily slide off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the water pooling on the top. The simplest dome tent should have a rectangular floor, slanted walls two or more poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is generally thought of that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 people.

Underneath you can check out a list of the tent's pros and cons.

PROS

  1. Vestibule. Having one vestibule. Gives you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a huge plus.
  2. Internal storage. It is nice to see Nemo Equipment has added a gear loft and pockets in the interior to store some of your stuff.
  3. Breathable. The Blaze's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  4. Other sizes are available. Nemo Equipment has also made this model available in Other Sizes.

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 18 square feet, the Blaze 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 80 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Rainfly does not wholly cover the tent body. The rainfly only covers the ceiling and part of the tent body from the top. Meaning it might not protect against heavy rain.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, The floor may be made of 20D nylon but it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, more so on rough terrain.
  4. Discontinued: Unfortunately this particular tent has been discontinued on the manufactures site and is not available elsewhere, that we are aware of.
  5. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have heaps of things to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.1 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.1 STARS

Nemo Equipment's Blaze 1 tent is really good for backpacking. There are a few other points not already mentioned above which, we found and liked, while researching the model: Divvy Sack dual-stage drawstring stuff sack allows you to easily split the tent between 2 people on the trail, Triangulated volumizing guyouts increase interior space and True tub floor construction reduces seams and seam tape, increasing the longevity of the tent.

With great ratings, a decent amount of reviews and a minimum headroom of 3' and 18 square feet of area to sleep, this tent is like your own small studio. This allows you to enjoy some delightful moments exploring the great outdoors. We found a decent amount of positive points about the tent that you can check out above.

If you came to this page looking for recommendations about this actual tent, our view is, it should make for a great purchase. If you simply happened to arrive on this page while browsing for a brand new tent having not heard of this manufacture or this model previously, it is possibly a good idea to check out a few more similar tents also.

Value for money: In terms of value for your money, this tent is a tiny bit more expensive than the standard price of all the seventy-nine, one-person tents we have studied, this by itself is not a negative thing. One should also take a look at other factors in-depth, as we do with each tent.

When we measure the valuation of a single tent, we reflect upon tons of data points, finding points where the tent could shine against other comparable tents and where it is coming up short. On this occasion, with an overall score of 4.1 and the price details above, one can see that with a price of $399.95 Nemo Equipment's Blaze 1 is a decent bargain though it may be perceived as a little pricey when set side by side with similar tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and size the tent offers make it a decent choice for campers searching for a tent that can last for many years. It will make a good choice for most people searching for a comfy three-season backpacking tent to camp with, that should serve you well for years to come.
