Summary: Favorable Reviews

Some people who used the tent said: It was super simple and easy to assemble. It doesnt occupy so much space too. Me and my little kids enjoyed our mini camping at our yard. Both the side entry door and the additional vestibule for storing shoes and gear are useful. There is a ton of airflow, which makes this wonderful during summer.

Summary: Unfavorable Reviews

Some backpackers said: Extra care is needed for some of its parts. Zippers are just awful I suppose. It can definitely break if youre not careful. Poles are not to be trusted during extreme weather conditions. It did not end well during a heavy rainfall from my last camping trip. Other than that, I got no issues with it.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Midori 1 has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 0, which is a little bit smaller than the average height of the 89 various 1 person tents we have studied. With 20 square feet of space inside, it is considerably smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you during the whole of the 3-seasons, this tent is suggested for use in, smaller tents similar to this one make a really nice choice for campers that prefer spending heaps of hours outside their tent getting some air.

Many of the fantastic points about dome tents are, that they are for, the most part lightweight, making them simple to carry around. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very simple to set up. In calm weather, you could do without securing the tent with stakes and ropes, not that this is recommended.

Dome tents are the most common of all the various types of tents you will find when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, resulting in the rain pooling on the top. The most basic dome tent should have a square footprint, slanted walls two or more poles which cross in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is usually considered that they are best for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Below you can find an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Midori can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not even have to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Offers you a place to store shoes and other items that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Breathable. The Midori 's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the summer.
  5. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the whole body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy downpours.
  6. Other sizes are available. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  7. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 1 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market provide this level of quality for only $149.95

CONS

  1. Not spacious. With a floor area of 20 square feet, the Midori 1 is smaller than quite a few of the 90 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 5% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative thing for some campers.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one available separately specifically for the Midori 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 68D 185T polyester taffeta, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have many qualities to be positive about. The sloping walls do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

Value for money: In so much as value for your money, this tent is significantly cheaper than the normal price of all the eighty-nine, one-person tents we have looked at, this just by itself does not make it remarkable value for money. We also need to think about other areas in-depth, as we do for every tent.

When we tally up the score of a single tent, we reflect upon a good deal of things, looking for areas where the tent could excel against other comparable tents and where it is coming up short. On this occasion, with a total rating of 4.3 and the price info above, It is simple enough to conclude that with a cost of $149.95 Eureka's Midori 1 is a very good buy and incredibly priced when compared with similar tents.
