Door is a bit difficult to enter. Space inside is cramped when hiking gear is included. May not fit in some backpacks. Rain fly is huge due to the built-in pole.

SPECS AND CONFIGURATIONS

The Midori 1 Solo has one door and a maximum center height of 3' 0, which is a little bit less than the average height of the 70 different 1 person tents we have examined With 20 square feet of room inside, it is a lot smaller than some other 1-person tents, and it would be quite tight for you during the 3-seasons, this tent is recommended for use in, smaller tents like this one often make a great choice for people that enjoy spending loads of time outside the tent exploring.

Some of the fantastic things about dome tents are, that they are under normal circumstances not too heavy, making them simple to carry. In most all instances, tents used for backpacking are of the dome type. They are generally speaking, freestanding and very straightforward to set up. In good weather, you can do without guy lines and stakes, not that this is suggested.

Dome tents are easily the most common of all the various sorts of tents you will see when camping. They tend to fair better in bad weather than other types, allowing water to roll off the sloped walls, unlike cabin tents that have flat roofs, allowing the water to pool on the roof. The most basic dome tent will have a square floor, slanted sides a couple of poles which converge in the middle of the roof. Because of their construction, it is typically considered that they are ideal for up to a maximum of 6 campers.

Down below, you can check out an account of the tent's strongest and weakest points.

PROS

  1. Freestanding. The Midori Solo can support its own weight on any terrain. It does not need to be staked down in most cases. But in case of strong winds, it is always best to secure it to the ground with the included steel stakes and guylines.
  2. Vestibules. Having two vestibules. Gives you somewhere to store shoes and other things that can get dirty, muddy, this is a big plus.
  3. Has Gear Loft. It is good to see Eureka adding a gear loft in the interior to store some of your things.
  4. Breathable. The Midori's interior uses a mesh fabric on the inside of the tent, and this helps maximize the flow of air. With the extra ventilation, and this tent is great for use in the warmer months.
  5. The rainfly completely covers the tent body. The rainfly covers the entire body of the tent from the top to the bottom and has a waterproof rating of 1500mm. Meaning it will easily protect you against heavy rain.
  6. Lots of Positive Reviews The Midori 1 has Plenty of awesome Reviews
  7. Other sizes are available. Eureka has also made this model available in Other Sizes.
  8. Low price. It is a great purchase for a 1 person dome tent providing this much space. Not a lot of tents available on the market give this level of quality for only $149.95

CONS

  1. Not roomy. With a floor area of 20 square feet, the Midori 1 is smaller than quite a lot of the 70 other 1 person tents we have looked at.
  2. Lacking in Headroom. With 8% less headroom than similar sized tents, one can see how this could be a negative factor for some campers.
  3. Footprint not Included. There is no included footprint, there is one sold separately designed for the Midori 1 footprint Even though the floor may be made of 68D 185T Polyester taffeta, it is still best to protect it further with a footprint, especially on rough terrain.
  4. Sloping walls. Even though Dome tents have lots of attributes to be positive about. The sloping sides do tend to make it all the more smaller inside.

CONCLUSION

4.9 Stars Logo

Our Ratings: 4.9 STARS

Eureka's Midori 1 Solo tent is perfect for backpacking. There are a few other nice points not noted above which, we noticed and liked, while researching the model: Access zipper to the rear vestibule allows for additional weatherproof storage, Spacious dome design includes an offset ridge pole that increases interior space without packing on the pounds and High/Low Air Exchange Venting.

With awesome ratings, quite a few reviews and a peak height of 3' and 20 square feet of space for sleeping, this tent is like your very own little studio. This will allow you to spend some real quality time in the outdoors. We found a decent amount of pros about the tent that you can study above.

If you found this website looking for an endorsement on this particular tent, our view is, it should make for an awesome acquisition. If you just happened to land on this website while browsing for a new tent having not heard of this manufacurer or this model previously, it is perhaps a good thing to check out some more comparable tents.

Value for money: When contemplating value for money, this tent is without a doubt cheaper than the average price of all the ninety-nine, one-person tents we have taken a look at, this just by itself does not make it good value for money. We also need to look at other things in-depth, as we do for each tent.

When we tally up the score of an individual tent, we study loads of data points, finding things where the tent could outperform other similar tents and where it is lacking. In this case, with an overall score of 4.9 and the price conclusions above, we can identify that with a ticket price of $149.95 Eureka's Midori 1 Solo is a very good bargain and astonishingly priced when compared with similar tents.

Its ratings show that the quality and space the tent provides were not in any way compromised to get a price undoubtedly beneath the usual price for comparable tents. It is also worth noting it is reduced by 0% from the manufactures MSRP. It will make a very good choice for nearly all campers searching for an appropriate three-season backpacking tent to camp in, that will serve you well for years to come.
